Bodø - Vettøysundet
Refuelling and topping up water tanks before departure.
No wind to in the beginning, but after a while close-hauled to Vettøysundet.
A nice harbour, but downcurrents from the mountains in the north turn the boat the whole night and dredged a noise anchor chain over the stony bottom.
Vettøysundet-Gullvik
Epic sailing over the West fjord - four knots on a glassy ocean!
Just before Lille Molla, this harbour porpoise surfaced near by the boat.
We dropped the anchor on a quiet sand bottom! in Gullvik.
A beautiful natural harbour!
The view towards Lille Molla.
Gullvik - Skipøosen
The Trollfjord had to be visited!
A tight fairway.
Snowdrift.
A couple of white-tailed were soaring along the steep rock wall.
After going through Raftsundet, we sailed to Skipøosen, a nice natural harbour with sandy bottom and white beaches.
The fairway were duly marked with danger sign saying "Missing rail", but the seagulls were not affected by the danger.
Today's H.
Skipøosen
The beach by the harbour
Skipøosen - Henningsvær
A calm morning in Skipøosen before the anchor was lifted and the course set for Melbu to buy some bread.
The the back side of Lofoten, and it is just as nice as the front!
Seagulls fleeing from a seagull conference that was disrupted by our arrival..
Sorry for the inconvenience!
The expedition continued through Gimsøystraumen and to the harbour of Henningsvær
Henningsvær - Skrova
Just had to include this agile seagull from Henningsvær.
Continued slow and steady to Svolvær, were we stocked up and refuelled petrol for the dingy.
The statue of the fisherman's wife at the entrance to Svolvær harbour.
The first model of it can be found in the next harbour Skrova.
harbour day in Skrova
Walked up to the mountain on the island to get a view of Lofoten.
Below is the view towards along the islands of lofoten all the way out to Værøy og Røst ( the small dots on the horizion).
Skrova Guest harbour is at the bottom right corner, Welkin is the white spot to the right. (see the magnification to the right).
Furter down is the view towards NE, the left fjord leads to Raftsundet and to the right is Vestfjorden.
Absolutely no comments!
9-10th of July Ballstad
We docked at the pier of Kremmervika Rorbuer, where some paragliding friends were staying.
Very nice soaring at Hornheia and and very nice food!
View of Nappstraumen, the picture is taken about 150m above the crest of Hornheia.
To the west of Ballstad, The two islands in the horizon is Værøy and Mosken.
